Medical layout at the Beaumont Maternity Hospital
In 2017, after several years of work, the new maternity ward at the Victor Provo Hospital in Roubaix opened its doors. The project design teams worked closely with health professionals to design an ultra-modern building, a space for well-being and comfort, integrated into a global environmental approach.
The 13,000 m² Woman-Mother-Child unit, separate from the hospital, is directly connected to the operating theatres and anaesthesia and post-interventional monitoring facilities of the Victor Provo Hospital. The Beaumont Maternity Ward has 92 beds for obstetrics, gynaecology and neonatal care with 35 beds for intensive care.
The single and double rooms have been equipped with baby changing tables with bath to enable parents to bathe their babies in the rooms. The changing unit can be fitted with a baby scale in the first drawer in order to offer the most complete ergonomics to the care teams. The drawer has a lock. A cupboard adjacent to the changing table has been made to measure.
Custom-made changing units were installed in the nurseries to optimise the layout and work benchtops were installed in the delivery rooms.
